In 2007, we were incredibly lucky to be able to purchase Beau-Derek as a brood doe from Keith and Marie Harrell.  Poor Beau has a soft tissue injury which has made her lame in one shoulder and unshowable.  In this case, the Harrell's loss was our gain and we will be forever thankful.  Beau is a wonderful soul who keeps all of us in line and her kids all exhibit those prepotent Beau genetics making them excellent milkers, with strong conformation and lots of show potential.  Beau herself has a beautiful capacious udder, it is high and wide with large milkeable teats and a decent medial. She deserves every bit of the V she received in linear appraisal in 2010.  I did think she was going to score an E in udder in 2012, but my mismanagement before appraisal precluded that!  Beau's doe Haiku appraised EEE+ 88 as a first freshener and will no doubt improve from there as she was appraised at the end of her lactation.  Talk about a family tree full of overachievers, almost all of Beau's paternal sisters have superior genetics designations and Master Champions among them are:
SG  ARMCH NC Promisedland Beau-Nita 3*M
SG  ARMCH  NC Promisedland Beau-Nanza 2*M
SG  ARMCH NC Promisedland Rain-Beau 3*M
SG ARMCH  NC Promiseldland Sunni-Beau-No 3*M

Thistle has one half sister who was a Master Champion in 2008: ARMCH NC Promisedland SS Zoey 6*D.  Thistle's first doe NC Promisedland Pal Paloma resides at Willow Moon Farm.  She is designated superior genetics and scored a 90 VEEE in linear appraisal in 2010.  Of Thistle's first doe NC Promisedland Pal Paloma her owners state "If you are looking for dairy Paloma has it.  In 2010 she produced 973 lbs of milk with 6% butterfat and 4.5% protein. . .  she has a very nice udder, high and well attached. Very dairy skin and teats that are nice sized and express easily.  2011 DHIA 239 DIM/967lbs/6.5%BF/4.2% Protein."  Willow Moon Farm (www.willowmoonfarm.com").

Thistle herself has a beautiful udder, with soft dairy skin that milks down to nothing and teats that are very easy to express.  In her last linear appraisal she received a "high V" for udder.  Thistle is also a joy on the milkstand and has that wonderful laid back dairy personality I wish all my goats had.  Thistle was dry in 2011 and I am worried she may also be dry in 2012.  I hope not because her kids are always so gorgeous.

Truedoe freshened with three very stylish and correct kids.  Her udder is huge, however, I would like to see a smoother foreudder and better attachments.   Despite her own attachments,Truedoe has the ability to throw kids with very well attached udders such as her  2007 Doe kid October Hill Isabella.
